Graceland, 16km from downtown Memphis, was formerly a nation estate but Memphis has increased a lot since that time. It's currently located on the equal of Parramatta Road: an ugly gash of automobile yards and fast food outlets. Do not think of driving to the gates as Jerry Lee Lewis and Bruce Springsteen did if they arrived to see "The King".

These days, you park across the street close to the souvenir stores of Graceland Plaza and are bused across. Although Graceland along with the entire modern Enterprise Elvis has more to do with a created icon compared to a guy and his songs, Memphis deserves its name as the city that gave birth to contemporary music. This has the feeling and atmosphere of history folks come searching for in Memphis - but just around five percent of these create the tour of the historical and temples that are evocative. In 1950 that was producer Sam Phillips began recording black artists such as Ike Turner and B King. Subsequently Elvis arrived, That's All ideal Mama was listed, and stone 'n' roster became the mainspring of a creation. It gives lively blues nightly, followed with the restaurant's famous hickory smoked prime ribs. Maybe not everybody in Memphis takes the contemporary diversion of Elvis seriously. Je veux que mes enfants puissent être des enfants. Je veux que les interactions entre mes enfants et leur éducatrice soient positives (et que les interventions à faire fasse du sens et soient faites de façon «posée»). Je veux qu'il n'y ait pas d'écrans, qu'ils jouent dehors ++, qu'ils aient beaucoup de temps de jeu libre et qu'ils soient nourris convenablement.

Ce qui me déplaît le plus et que je voudrais changer dans leur milieu actuel: ils mettent davantage l'accent sur la motricité fine que sur la motricité globale. C'est vraiment pas nécessaire autant de bricolages, je préférerais qu'ils passent plus de temps à jouer dehors. J'aimerais que la cour clôturée soit plus grande pour qu'ils puissent courir pour la peine.

Ce que j'aime le plus: les éducatrices sont patientes (personne ne crie), elles appliquent différentes techniques d'intervention (les enfants ne sont pas tjrs en retrait, elles leur font faire des gestes de réparation), elles apprécient chacun des enfants et sont positives et souriantes. Le milieu est chaleureux et accueillant.

Il y a une grande transparence (mes enfants sont dans les plus vieux, ils parlent très bien et me racontent tout et je dois dire qu'elles n'ont rien à cacher). En plus, le local des enfants donnent sur la grande vitrine en face de la bâtisse. Je pourrais m'amuser à espionner.

Mon histoire "d'horreur" (ce n'était pas extrême non plus) c'était avec un milieu qui ne respectait aucunement les règles du contrat (et qui font référence aux énoncés de loi donc le menu selon le guide alimentaire, l'utilisation de tv limitée, aller dehors, etc.). Ça c'était un cas où il y avait un manque flagrant de transparence. La responsable me trouvait snob parce que je lui demandais ce qu'ils (mes enfants) avaient fait aujourd'hui (vu qu'elle ne mentionnait rien, qu'il n'y avait pas d'agenda, rien...). Et quand j'avais revalidé certaines informations (parce que mes enfants me donnaient une version différente de la sienne), elle avait sauté une coche en me disant que la façon dont elle s'occupait des enfants chez elle (dont les miens on s'entend) ne me regardait pas. Et malgré tout le malaise que ça pouvait créer, je lui avais soumis mes préoccupations en lien avec mes attentes qui étaient dans ses énoncés de contrat et dans le dépliant remis par le bureau coordonnateur et elle m'avait répondu qu'elle n'avait aucun compte à rendre à personne, que quand le bureau coordonnateur lui téléphonait, elle savait quoi lui dire. Ça m'avait beaucoup ébranlé parce que c'était quand même une connaissance... qui habite tout près dans le quartier, on a des connaissances communes.. J'ai eu peur d'avoir parti toute une chicane de quartier! C'est pour ça qu'après ça j'ai cherché une installation - pour la «neutralité» que ça permet d'avoir dans le voisinage en cas de litige !

- Une ou deux responsables MAX. Quand ma fille était en âge d’aller à la garderie, je ne voulais absolument pas qu’elle passe ses journées à changer d’éducatrice. Je souhaitais qu’elle puisse avoir la même personne jusqu’à son entrée à la maternelle. Je voulais aussi avoir la possibilité de choisir moi-même la responsable. Une responsable honnête, transparente, juste et sensible.

- un grand terrain de jeux, un parc à proximité, des sorties dans le quartier ou ailleurs. Beaucoup beaucoup de plein air, même quand il fait moins beau

- une alimentation saine sans trop de produits transformés. Pas trop de sucre, pas trop de sel. De la bouffe simple, mais contenant en majorité des fruits et légumes, des grains entiers et des sources de fer et protéines variées; pas seulement provenant de la viande

- un milieu de vie stimulant. Avec de jouets variés et du matériel pour bricoler, dessiner, créer. De la musique de temps en temps. Une personne qui s’exprime bien en français. Qui nomme les choses par leur nom. Une corneille ce n’est pas un pit pit... un repas, ce n’est pas du miam miam.

J’aurais bien d’autres exigences en tant que parent!!! Mais celles-ci sont primordiales pour moi.
