Parent coming over for an interview unannounced!
Je m'excuse mais quand je comprend bien le francais, Je suis pas aussi capable de expliquer avec la correcte grammaire.
Je veux expliquer en Anglais, et apres Je peux essayer en Francais. I have advertised on this website for 3 years, and I have never had a problem before. I always put my address for parents to search, as many others do. Last week at 6:30pm a woman rang my doorbell and asked to come into the daycare. She said that she called that day but no one answered and she didn't leave a message. I told her #1 -I am closed #2 -We are having supper. Is that common or strange? I will obviously not give her an interview. ok.. |
Hi Pamelala,
Yes, well at least I have never heard of anyone doing that.... You did right not letting her in!!! Your family time is important! I would have been just as fustrated! Did you give her a time to come back and visit? That's one of the reasons that my address is not on the website!!!! Good luck, |
You have to put things clear right away with this kind of parent. I wouldn't have let her in without an appointment or a previous chat with the person on the phone. You never know who you're dealing with and this shows me that this kind of person might not respect your rules as well as the service hours...
Respect is a major thing in our line of work and this is not a respectful way of starting a relation where trust is so important. Hope you find the right person soon! ;) |
No respect at all... this is not commun but for your protection you can choose not to put your entire adress on the website, the zip code is enough for parents to see if you're in there area .... and do what you want but I would never give a second chance to that kind of person... she seem to be impolite and very selfish but its only my opinion.....;)

My god. I can't believe some people! I as a parent would never do that. I felt awkward enough with going into someone's home daycare without a specified time, after having called them. They just told me to "come by anytime" to visit the daycare, and I was not comfortable doing it.
If I were in your place, I would not let the person visit, and obviously not give her a place! If she asks for a reason (she probably will) tell her that you found it incredibly rude of her to come un-announced especially that it was during your off-hours. That in the futur, she should call the daycare she wants to visit and set up an appointment before. Good luck in your search. |
